Powder Ghost Towns: A New Series
In late 2008, Boulder author Pete Bronski published Powder Ghost Towns, a guide to Colorado’s abandoned ski resorts, many of which still provide excellent terrain for those willing to climb under the silent lifts. During his research, Bronski also filmed the sweet skiing found at many of these empty old resorts.
Over the next six weeks, we’ll post a mystery photo from an abandoned resort each Monday, and ask you to guess the location. On Wednesday, we’ll give the name and a little info about the mystery resort, along with a new video clip featuring several “powder ghost towns.” Here’s the trailer for Pete’s videos and the first mystery photo (probably an easy one for many Coloradans). Post your guess in a comment, and check back on Wednesday for the reveal.
