Hump Day Movie: Beyond Midnight

OK, for most people Hump Day was yesterday this holiday week, but it’s Wednesday and that means it’s movie time. Here’s the trailer for Beyond Midnight: The Grand Traverse, a new 50-minute film about the Elk Mountains Grand Traverse, the awesome 40-mile ski race between Crested Butte and Aspen.

Producer Andrew Kastning has raced the Grand Traverse four times, including 2009, the year the film was made. “Each time I have a different story to tell at the finish line,” he said. “I have raced cross country my whole life, and there is no ski race in North America that comes close to the challenges competitors face between Crested Butte and Aspen.”

Registration starts on December 1 for the 2010 Elk Mountains Grand Traverse (March 26-27, 2010). This one always fills super-fast, though available spaces sometimes are posted on the race website.
